Wisdom Teeth Removal

Nowadays its very usual for a young adult to need removal of one or more wisdom teeth. This is mainly because of the impacted nature of unerupted wisdom teeth potentially causing problems like infections, decay in adjacent tooth etc. now a days more and more people need wisdom teeth removal to decreasing size of our jaw compared to centuries ago due to significant change in our diet. If you are a teenager or young adult and hasnot got wisdom teeth erupted and fully functional, then mostly likely you will be advised to get a radiograph called OPG to view the wisdom teeth and the dentist at Zen smiles would advise, whether your wisdom teeth need removal or no. Sometimes even if the wisdom teeth are impacted, they may not be necessarily removed, if the risk of removing is higher than the risk of not removing the tooth .

Once there is severe pain and infection, the procedure becomes more difficult, especially if you have difficulty in opening the mouth. So ideally get a check up done at the age of 18 with an OPG xray and take the advise from your dentist.
